Are you interested in shooting black powder muzzle-loading rifles or an air rifle?
Black Powder
Under SSAA rules, there is a possibility, with enough interest, that the club could create a Black Powder section.
The challenging discipline involves target shooting at different distances, 50, 100 metres, SSAA has a series of challenging structured competitions within its rules. Muzzle loaders can be every bit as accurate as a normal cartridge rifle, shooting them well takes skill, and can be hugely rewarding.
Because of the low muzzle velocity, it’s entirely possible that this discipline could take place on our existing danger template at Jarrahdale.
If you have a muzzle loader or air rifle in your collection, or if this sounds like something you would enjoy? Please let me know.
Currently at the stage of gauging interest, we would also love to hear if you think you’re in a position to support these shoots.
These new opportunities don’t happen by magic with range fairies; it’s going to take the membership to be awesome and step up. With that said, thank you to those who have put the legwork in to get it to this point.
